Synchronisation and Sharing

Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily.

Evernote works by connecting all the computers and phones you use daily, allowing you to capture something in one place and then access it from another.

LastPass is an online password manager and form filler that aims to make web browsing easier and more secure.

StumbleUpon is a discovery engine that finds and recommends the best of the web. It also allows you to share what you discovered.

xMarks offers bookmark synchronization, search enhancement and web discovery based on sites bookmarked by users.

Media Curation
An emerging trend toward integrating and pondering media content using a mix of machine and human resources, such that material from multiple sources creates a unique editorial experience for readers/visitors.

Feedly integrates feeds from Google Reader and other sources.

Flipboard is the first of its kind – a personalized, social magazine on iPad.

Zite is the best news curation app I have used, Zite is a personalized iPad magazine that gets better as you use it.

Content Creation

Dipity allows you to create digital timeline. A useful tool for learning and presentations.

Google Docs is a free, Web-based word processor, spreadsheet, slide show, form, and data storage service. It allows users to create and edit documents online while collaborating in real-time with other users.

Hootsuite is a social media client that allows you to post simultaneously to Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin etc.

Learni.st allows you to share your learning with others.

Lore allows you to create online courses.

Pinterest is a fun tool that allows you to pin and collect pictures onto boards

Prezi is a web-based presentation application and storytelling tool that uses a single canvas instead of traditional slides.

Tweetdeck is one of the better and more powerful twitter client I have used.

Visual.ly is an online infographics creation tool.

Zoho provides an integrated portfolio of more than 20 online applications for businesses.

Reading and Documents Sharing

Anobii is a community that allows you to share your readings. I use it primarily to catalogue my library of books.

Instapaper saves long web pages to read later, when you have time, on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or Kindle. It includes recommended articles for reading too.

Issuu allows for realistic and customizable viewing of digitally uploaded material, such as portfolios, books, magazine issues, newspapers, and other print media.

Read It Later save pages to read later. It eliminates cluttering of bookmarks with sites that are merely of a one-time interest.

Scribd is a document-sharing website which allows users to post documents of various formats, and embed them into a web page using its iPaper format.

Zinio is digital magazines delivered over the internet.
